Paying For Your Fare

Jakarta has a wide array of choices for those who are traveling on a tight budget, and you can get around Jakarta for less than a cup of coffee!

Here's a list of how to pay your ticket fare:

  • KRL: KUE*, Jaklingko App, KAI Access, GoTransit
  • LRT-Jabodebek: KUE*, KAI Access
  • MRT: KUE*, Jaklingko App
  • BRT: KUE*, Jaklingko App
  • Angkot Jaklingko: KUE*
  • LRT Jakarta: KUE*, Jaklingko App

Note

  • *KUE stands for Kartu Uang Elektronik, such as Mandiri e-money, BCA Flazz, BNI TapCash, BRI Brizzi, or Bank DKI Jakcard
  • Single Trip cards are no longer issued across the Jakarta transit system except the MRT.
  • While the JakLingko App is available, we highly recommend procuring and using a KUE* as the reliability of the QR code readers vary, especially in the BRT network.

Arriving by Intercity Train

Are you taking an Intercity train to Jakarta? If so, this section is for you! Most Intercity trains end their journey at two of the following stations

But some trains will stop (In Bekasi & East Jakarta) before ending their journey in Gambir or Pasar Senen Station.

Once you stop here, you can continue your journey with a commuter train.

Note

If you are a heavy traveler (carrying more than 1 bag and/or a fursuiter carrying their fursuit), this may not be a suitable option for you. You might need to use a taxi, online ride-hailing app, or have someone pick you up in the station!

For our folks from Bandung, you can always take the following trains:

  • WHOOSH

    Tegalluar, Padalarang ←→ Halim

    Rp 150 000 to Rp 250 000 (Dynamic Pricing)

  • KA Argo Parahyangan

    Bandung ←→ Gambir

    Rp 150 000 (Economy Premium)
    Rp 450 000 (Kelas Mewah)

  • KA Serayu Pagi & Malam

    Kiaracondong ←→ Pasar Senen

    Rp 65 000 (Economy PSO)

  • KA Cikuray Pagi

    Bandung ←→ Pasar Senen

    Rp 45 000 (Economy PSO)

Note

Economy PSO is known for being uncomfortable for some people, as it has a seat that does not recline and is positioned at 70 to 90°.
